The motto of the ARMA organization is "mower racing for more people". The ARMA rulebooks from the first to the present have been created with input from racers throughout the United States. And, when a racer brings forth an issue, the ARMA Board of Directors willingly examines the issue and takes
action if necessary. Such was the case when a racer brought their concerns to us about the Super Mod classes. After much discussion, it has been decided that rear engine machines will not be permitted in this class. The combination of rear and front engine machines in this class, along with the low chassis height create the potential for grave injury to the drivers of the rear engine machines. The lack of sheet metal in the front of rear engine machines would also increase the risk of injury. In addition, drivers of front engine machines need to take measures to ensure that they are providing themselves with the greatest amount of protection possible while driving these machines. For 2010 this will include positioning the seat in an upright position and adding padding to the steering wheel. While we acknowledge this change may create some hardship for drivers who are preparing for race season to start shortly, we would rather address the issue now than down the road following an accident that seriously injures one of our racers. These changes will be added to the 2010 rulebook and the ammended version will be posted where the originals are now. As always, please feel free to contact me with any concerns, questions or additional input you may have.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly
proclaiming . . "WOW ---What a Ride
