Title: Definition of YELLOWS DO NOT COUNT!!!!
Post by: George Herrin on September 14, 2008, 09:14:39 am
When we say the yellow does not count, that means if we have 10 laps of yellow we will have a 30 lap feature. The yellows do not count as race laps. Thats all it means. IF you are in the infield under yellow or in the hay bales under yellow and you go a lap down you ARE a lap down. Laps are counted each lap by the scorers but the SPECTATORS are gonna see 20 laps of green flag racing as advertised not 10 laps green and 10 laps racing. Leaders have the option of slowing way down even below the yellow flag pace and giving someone a chance to maintain their presence on the lead lap but it is not required nor asked of them to do so that is a courtesy they do on their own. I HOPE this clarify's the conditions under a yellow flag.
